Holiday trips around Warsaw – one-day attractions for the whole family

7 August 2024

Summer is the perfect time for family trips that allow you to escape daily routines and spend quality time in nature. We know that organizing such outings with children can be quite a challenge, so in this article, we will suggest where to go to spend unforgettable moments with your loved ones.

Kayaking trip for adventure enthusiasts

For those seeking greater thrills, a kayaking trip on the Jeziorka River is an excellent choice.
The route, approximately 14 km long, starts near Park Górki Szymona and winds through picturesque spots and bridges, such as the old narrow-gauge railway bridge in Chylice, all the way to the kayak landing at Stara Papiernia in Konstancin-Jeziorna.
During the trip, you can admire the historic weir on the Jeziorka and even cross over the dam to the other side of the river. It’s a fantastic adventure for the whole family.

A full-day relaxation by the water at the Żabieniec reservoir

The Żabieniec reservoir is an ideal choice for a warm day with the family.
The green area includes several ponds with swimming spots and fishing areas.
The park features spaces for campfires, shelters for meals, and piers with beautiful views.
There are plenty of places to walk, play ringo or badminton, and lay out a blanket to read a book.
Everyone will find something to enjoy here.

Both the Żabieniec reservoir and Park Górki Szymona are located south of Warsaw, with easy access from our neighborhoods in Magdalenka (Nova Magdalenka 5), or in Janczewice (Osiedle Natura).

Kampinos National Park – nature and a touch of Polish village history

Kampinos National Park is one of the most beautiful places around Warsaw.
It’s an ideal spot for a family walk where children can explore the richness of nature, observe wild animals, and discover forest trails.
While strolling along the picturesque paths, you can stop for a picnic or organize outdoor games.
Another great attraction is the Granica Open-Air Museum (located within the Park), showcasing traditional rural architecture from Mazovia.
Here, you can see cottages, barns, and mills.
The museum also offers educational trails that provide insights into the region’s history and the nature of the Kampinos Forest.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to show children what life was like in the Polish countryside, the tools used by their great-grandparents, and the forms of relaxation from decades ago.
Our investments in Ożarów Mazowiecki (for example Miasto Ogród 4 or Miasto ogród 6) it’s only a half-hour drive to the mentioned Kampinos National Park.

Museum of Motoring and Technology in Otrębusy

You don’t need to be a car enthusiast, machinery fan, or history buff to be impressed by the Museum of Motoring and Technology in Otrębusy.
It’s a true haven filled with vintage vehicles and technical curiosities that will captivate both the young and the old. The museum is one of the largest of its kind in Poland.
Here, you will find cars, motorcycles, bicycles, and even military vehicles from various eras.
Children will have the chance to see legendary models up close, such as the Ford Model T, Polish Fiat 125p, Syrenka, Warszawa, and many foreign automotive gems.
The museum is located to the southwest of Warsaw, similar to many of our investments, for example Osiedle Młodych in Janczewice or Zielono Mi in Podolszyn.

Czersk Castle

The Masovian Dukes’ Castle in Czersk is one of the most picturesque spots around Warsaw, known for its knightly tournaments and historical fairs.
Children can watch knightly combat demonstrations and dances, participate in historical workshops, and even try on period costumes.
In the summer, festivals are held here, allowing the whole family to step back in time and experience the atmosphere of the Middle Ages.
You can purchase souvenirs, linen clothing, or leather accessories, and also sample unique snacks and drinks, such as beetroot or lightly salted cucumber-flavored beer.

Return home

Each of the above suggestions is a great opportunity to spend unforgettable moments with your family, enjoying quality time together and the beauty of nature.
After a day full of excitement and adventure, returning home to a peaceful, quiet neighborhood where you can relax in a private garden or spacious living room is a perfect way to end the trip.
