Summer cocktails and refreshing drinks – recipes for hot days

In summer, we spend more time outdoors enjoying the beautiful weather. However, let’s remember to stay hydrated. It’s worth having healthy and refreshing drinks on hand to help cool down, so we’ve prepared a few simple and tasty recipes for you. These are perfect for those living in our communities, where gardens and terraces encourage summer relaxation with the whole family.

Watermelon Explosion

Watermelon is one of the most refreshing fruits of summer, and have you tried it with lemon or lime?
That’s the perfect duo!

Prepare:
500 g of watermelon flesh
Juice of 2 limes
2 tablespoons of honey
A handful of fresh mint
Ice cubes

Instructions:

Blend the watermelon flesh into a smooth puree.
Add lime juice, honey, and blend again.
Add mint leaves and ice cubes, and gently stir.
You can add any amount of water to make a lemonade, skip the honey, or add a bit of sugar instead.
This drink is perfect for garden parties, which are a common feature of life in our communities.

Mango Feast

Mango lassi is a drink originating from India that is refreshing and filling.
It’s perfect for summer afternoons spent in the garden.

Prepare:
1 ripe mango
1 cup of natural yogurt
1/2 cup of milk
2 tablespoons of sugar
A pinch of cardamom
Ice cubes

Instructions:

Peel the mango and cut the flesh into pieces.
Put the mango, yogurt, milk, sugar, and cardamom into a blender and blend until smooth.
Add ice cubes as desired.

Green Tea with Citrus

Green tea is a drink full of antioxidants, and combined with citrus, it becomes a healthy and refreshing beverage for hot days.

Prepare:
1 liter of brewed and chilled green tea
Juice of 1 orange
Juice of 1 lemon
2 tablespoons of honey
Ice cubes
Orange and lemon slices for garnish

Instructions:

Brew the green tea, then chill it in the refrigerator.
Add the orange juice, lemon juice, and honey, and mix well.
Add ice cubes and fruit slices for garnish.
This is an excellent drink for family gatherings in the garden, which are part of everyday life in our communities.

Tereré – Cold Yerba Mate

Tereré is the Paraguayan version of yerba mate served cold.
It refreshes and boosts energy!

Prepare:
About 6 teaspoons of yerba mate (or to taste)
1 liter of cold water (preferably ice-cold)
Juice of 1 lime or lemon
A handful of fresh mint
Ice cubes

Instructions:

Place the yerba mate in a vessel, ideally in a special gourd or glass.
Add the ice-cold water and let it sit for a few minutes.
Add the lime or lemon juice and mint leaves.
Top with ice cubes.
