  • Sulejówek – The Marshal's City

    Sulejówek is recognized as the city of Józef Piłsudski; its coat of arms and bugle call contain many symbols and references to the Marshal’s achievements. The city’s main tourist attractions are the former villas where Piłsudski lived with his family – Milusin villa and Otradno villa (“Drewniak”). Today, this area also houses the Józef Piłsudski Museum, a symbol of patriotism.

    The first mentions of Sulejówek, as a small village named Sulewo with 57 inhabitants, appeared as early as 1526. At the end of the 19th century, a railway line was built there, around which the city began to grow. Today, over 21,000 residents live in Sulejówek.

  • Once a clay mine, today a park spanning over 20 hectares!

    The developing city of Sulejówek needed building materials, so a clay mine was established on the site of today’s Glinianki Park, where the clay was processed into bricks in a nearby factory. When the raw material reserves ran out, the area was flooded with water, and thus a recreational spot for residents began to emerge.

    Today, Glinianki Park is a 22-hectare area with a bathing spot where you can paddleboard or kayak, a large playground and outdoor gym, many walking paths, and special, covered barbecue areas. In 2022, a brine graduation tower was also built there, along with numerous benches around it, so that during a walk, one can rest and breathe healthy, purified air.
